Electrical tape, as an essential product for electrical maintenance, almost appears in every electrician’s toolbox, but do we really understand it?
Today, we will analyze in detail the three misunderstandings about electrical tape!
Electrical tape, as an essential product for electrical maintenance, almost appears in every electrician’s toolbox, but do we really understand it? Today, we will analyze in detail the three misunderstandings about electrical tape!
Myth1: The more sticky electrical tape, the better?
The electrical tape doesn’t seem to stick to the touch. Is it of bad quality?
The electrical tape is not wrapped around the hand in the end, and simply touching the tape with your hand to feel the viscosity does not have reference significance. Some poor quality electrical tapes, at the expense of glue cohesion strength, blindly increase the softness of the glue, to achieve a very sticky feel, and in the actual use of the process will bring degumming, overflow and other problems.
Feel sticky ≠ actual use sticky, electrical adhesive tape is not sticky, can not only “touch” to judge!
If you want to increase the stickiness of electrical tape, can you just apply more glue? Not so, blindly apply more glue, may make the feel better, but whether it is unused tape in storage, or wrapped tape, it is more likely to produce overflow phenomenon. Electrical equipment is generally in a higher temperature environment, too much glue will produce more serious glue overflow phenomenon.
